lilacs

In vase, I preferred them still in bud. More sculptural. But the double whites were highly photogenic.

Aside from the bunch I gathered still in buds, they did not last more than a day.

  1. Aww I love the tinkerbell lilacs. Aren't they so cute? The white ones are definitely my favourite of your loot too. So fluffy and classy. I wish there was a neglected neighbourhood bush I could abscond with some lilacs too.

  2. Lael: I know! I'll have to steal some more next week ;)

Lindsey: These weren't in my neighbourhood at all! They're about a 10 minute walk from my place (as the crow flies). Just go for a random walk outside your usual zone and don't forget to bring a bag and some clippers. You'll see some poking through a fence somewhere! I didn't even spot mine until we drove past them.

  6. Eftychia: Thanks! If I could post a dozen more photos, I totally would.

My Spatula: Thank you, but they're not mine! I "lifted" some that were growing near a walking path. And once I realized the whites were doubles, I couldn't stop cutting them. They only last so long! They should be enjoyed by someone at least.

TCFO: I had no idea lilacs weren't something that could grow everywhere! Here, they're almost like a weed if left untended.

  7. A weed???? Oh how I wish we had lilac weeds. Or just lilacs would be so so nice!
