On Friday, mom woke up to find both of her giant goldfish dead and the loss has hit all of us pretty hard. I know most people wouldn't feel that way towards a goldfish, but we've had them in the family for 10 years and the thought of not seeing them swimming around just breaks my heart. They will be forever missed.

aw, i'm very sorry :( i don't think the type of animal matters; it's always hard to lose a member of the family.
I would feel very sad too and I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Such a gorgeous creature. I think it's not fair that animals don't live longer.
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's goldfish! They both look adorable. I've always admired their cute heads. It doesn't matter what sort of animal it is, when a pet dies it's always hard.
